This session will provide attendees with an overview of the evolving functional food and dietary supplement market in the United States. In addition, it will cover what is new and exciting as well as what is on the horizon for businesses who are currently in the U.S. market, or looking to expand to the U.S. Lastly, Steve Mister will provide a brief overview of CRN’s ten priorities set out for 2021.

About Steve Mister

Mr. Mister has been President & CEO of the Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN), the leading trade association for the dietary supplement and functional food industry, since 2005. Under his leadership, CRN has launched highly successful initiatives like the Supplement OWL, an industry-wide registry of product labels; Life…supplemented®, a consumer education campaign; a self-regulatory advertising review program with the CBBBs, and an economic report demonstrating healthcare cost savings from the targeted use of supplements.

Mister is executive director of CRN-International, current Vice Chair of the International Alliance of Dietary Supplement Associations (IADSA), and sits on the steering committee of the Dietary Supplement Quality Collaborative (DSQC). He is a member of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Association Committee of 100.

A practicing attorney, Mr. Mister holds a law degree from the College of William and Mary, an M.A. in Political Communication from the University of Maryland, and a B.S. in Speech Communication from Towson University.
